The TVS Jupiter CNG is the world’s first CNG-powered scooter, based on the Jupiter 125. It can run on both CNG and petrol, making it more fuel-efficient and eco-friendly.
TVS Jupiter 125 CNG Summary
The TVS Jupiter CNG is built on the popular Jupiter platform but now comes with a CNG option. The 1.4kg CNG tank is placed under the seat, so there’s no storage space. TVS has neatly covered the tank with a plastic panel, with a small opening for the pressure gauge and filler nozzle. It gives a mileage of 84 km per kg of CNG.
It also has a 2-litre petrol tank on the floorboard, with the filler nozzle in the front apron, just like the Jupiter 125 petrol version. With both CNG and petrol, the scooter can go up to 226 km in total.
The TVS Jupiter CNG is powered by a 124.8cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 7.1bhp at 6,000rpm and 9.4Nm at 5,500rpm. TVS claims it can reach a top speed of 80 kmph. Right now, the Jupiter 125 CNG is still in the concept stage, and there’s no official launch date for India yet. But if it goes into production, it’s expected to be priced between ₹90,000 and ₹1 lakh.
